How to Find Things on Google
61In this HUB I am going to show you how to find things on Google. Simple but effective search results that you never knew you were able to get.
The quotes sign
When you type in a word or a phrase in the Google search field the results you get are always overwhelming. Most of the time you end up nowhere and Google search will leave you frustrated and angry. The first tip will be a relief and it is so simple. Just use the " sign or quotes before and after the word or phrase you are typing in. The results will astonish you. Your Google search will be more focused on the word or phrase exactly. This will limit the total pages found and probably give you the result you were looking for.
Using a wild card
Use a wild card in your search string. For example "eBay*" (without the quotes) will give you a massive result which you like to limit to focus on what you are really looking for on Google. Use "[ ]vs[]" if you want to compare something in this case on eBay.([eBay* shoes]vs[eBay* boots]) the results will still be a lot of pages but you can add something to this string which will limit and focus this search. For example add usd15 to the search string and your results will be more focused on boots versus shoes on eBay for the price of 15 dollars. ([eBay* shoes]vs[eBay* boots] + usd15)
Plus and minus sign
When you add the "plus sign" to your search word or phrase you will get more focused results, depending on what word or phrase you used after the plus sign. Always make sure that there is a space between the first word, phrase and the plus sign (see eBay example). In this same way you can use the "minus sign" which will give you Google results minus that what you typed after the minus sign.
In this article I gave you some easy to follow tips to be more effective in using the Google search engine. Your results will be more focused and you will find things quicker without the usual frustrations.
